—St. Mary Catholic Central Football—

Tradition Never Graduates

Little compares to donning the Falcon green and gold and cheering the team to a hard fought victory at historic Navarre Field. At first glance, you recognize there’s nothing fancy about the familiar surroundings on Jones Avenue. There’s not an inch of the increasingly-popular field turf. There’s not an expansive press box outfitted with the latest technology. The speaker system crackles and there’s barely a hint of the SMCC name anywhere.

But then you realize, none of that matters. The greatness that is Falcon Football is built on the rich tradition of those who come to work. Year after year, young men suit up and bring their talents to the familiar confines of Navarre Field. Week after week, coaches bring out the best in their players, racking up wins and championships along the way. There’s no secret to the success of St. Mary Catholic Central football. But what there is, is a sense of Tradition.

You see, Tradition never graduates. There is actually something special about “nothing special.” Falcon football isn’t flashy. Falcon football isn’t about molding superstars. Falcon football isn’t creating front-page headlines across the state. Much like the hallowed ground on which they play, Falcon football humbly, quietly comes to work day in and day out. Year after year.

There’s a lot to be said for Tradition. For 75 years, the SMA/MCC/SMCC family has enjoyed incomparable memories at the football field. We’ve celebrated State Championships and endured heartbreaking losses. Yet through it all one thing remains constant—Falcon Football cultivates greatness. Building teams and building character remain the forefront of the Falcon Football mission. Years of success tell us that when you do things the right way-build teams on a strong foundation and expect nothing less than the best-TOGETHER we can achieve greatness. This is the TRADITION that is Falcon Football. And much like that weathered field on Jones Avenue, it’s part of our fiber.

The SMCC Touchdown Club was established to support the Falcon football program behind the scenes.

All funds raised through the SMCC Touchdown Club directly benefit the football program. Past funds have provided meals, transportation, salaries, apparel, equipment and facility improvements not otherwise covered through the athletic department budget. All members and board members donate their time and talent for the good of the program in order to run efficiently and using very limited overhead resources so that a maximum amount of dollars benefits the team and program. We also serve as the escrow entity for future equipment purchases that require multiple years of fundraising.

The SMCC Touchdown Club, INC is a non-profit corporation (ID #803118203).

All contributions to the SMCC Touchdown Club, INC are tax-deductible as allowable by law, operating as a 501(c)(3) organization with IRS tax exempt status granted on 11/28/2023. Please consult your tax advisor for further information.
